Hadith 11877
عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ حِينَ حُضِرَ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ فِي أَقْصَى الدَّارِ قَالَ فَأَبْصَرْتُهُ فِي وَجْهِ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ وَكُنْتُ إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُ كَأَنَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ الدُّهْنَ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسَحَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ وَهُرَيْمٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
It is narrated from Abu Al-Ala bin Umair that when the time of death of Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Milhan (may Allah be pleased with him) approached, I was present with him at that time. Meanwhile, a man passed by from a distance inside the house. I saw the reflection of the passerby (like a mirror) on the face of Qatadah bin Milhan (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Al-Ala says: Whenever I used to look at him, it seemed as if oil had been applied to his face. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed his blessed hand over his face.
