Book of Knowledge

بَابُ فَضْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعُلَمَاءِ
Chapter on the virtue of knowledge and scholars
2 فَصْلٌ مِنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷺ "مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِSection on the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: "Whomever Allah wishes good for, He gives him understanding in religion"
3 بَابٌ فِي الرِّحْلَةِ فِي طَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ وَفَضْلِ طَالِبِهِChapter on traveling in search of knowledge and the virtue of the seeker of knowledge
4 بَابُ الْحَثِّ عَلَى تَعْلِيمِ الْعِلْمِ وَآدَابِ الْمُعَلِّمِChapter on encouraging the teaching of knowledge and the etiquette of the teacher
5 بَابٌ فِي مَجَالِسِ الْعِلْمِ وَآدَابِهَا وَآدَابِ الْمُتَعَلِّمِChapter on gatherings of knowledge, their etiquette, and the etiquette of the learner
6 فَضْلٌ فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي تَعَلُّمِ لُغَةٍ غَيْرِ لُغَةِ الْعَرَبِIts virtue regarding learning a language other than Arabic
7 بَابٌ فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي ذَمِّ كَثْرَةِ السُّؤَالِ فِي الْعِلْمِ لِغَيْرِ حَاجَةٍChapter on what has come regarding the condemnation of excessive questioning in knowledge without need
8 فَضْلٌ فِي وُجُوبِ السُّؤَالِ عَنْ كُلِّ مَا يَحْتَاجُهُ لِدِينِهِ وَدُنْيَاهُIts virtue regarding the obligation to ask about everything needed for one's religion and worldly life
9 بَابٌ فِي وَعِيدِ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ عِلْمًا فَكَتَمَهُ أَوْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِهِ أَوْ تَعَلَّمَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِChapter on the warning for one who learns knowledge and conceals it, or does not act upon it, or learns for other than Allah
10 بَابٌ فِي فَضْلِ تَبْلِيغِ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَقْلِهِ كَمَا سَمِعَChapter on the virtue of conveying hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and transmitting it as heard
11 فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي الْإِحْتِرَازِ فِي رِوَايَةِ الْحَدِيثِ وَتَجْوِىْدِ أَلْفَاظِهِ كَمَا صَدَرَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺOn what has come regarding caution in narrating hadith and perfecting its wording as it was uttered by the Prophet ﷺ
12 بَابٌ فِي مَعْرِفَةِ أَهْلِ الْحَدِيثِ بِصَحِيحِهِ وَضَعِيفِهِ وَحَمْلِ مَا ثَبَتَ مِنْهُ عَلَى أَكْمَلِ وُجُوهِهِChapter on the knowledge of the people of hadith regarding its authentic and weak reports, and interpreting what is established in the best way
13 بَابٌ فِي النَّهْي عَنْ كِتَابَةِ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالرُّخْصَةِ فِي ذَلِكَChapter on the prohibition of writing hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the concession in that
14 فَضْلٌ فِي الرُّخْصَةِ فِي كِتَابَةِ الْحَدِيثِIts virtue regarding the concession in writing hadith
15 بَابٌ فِي النَّهْيِ عَنْ التَّحْدِيثِ عَنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالرُّخْصَةِ فِي ذَلِكَChapter on the prohibition of narrating from the People of the Book and the concession in that
16 فَضْلٌ فِي الرُّخْصَةِ فِي الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِIts virtue regarding the concession in narrating from the People of the Book
17 بَابٌ فِي تَغْلِيظِ الْكَذِبِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلَّى اللهُ عَليهِ وسَلمَChapter on the severity of lying about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
18 بَابٌ فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي رَفْعِ الْعِلْمِChapter on what has come regarding the removal of knowledge
