Hadith 9832

عَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((مَنْ عَمَّرَ سِتِّينَ أَوْ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً فَقَدْ أَعْذَرَ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْعُمُرِ))
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever Allah Almighty has granted life for sixty or seventy years, then Allah Almighty has removed his excuse regarding age.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this hadith, a warning is given to a person who attains an age of sixty or seventy years, that he was granted such a long life in which the means of success in the Hereafter could have been gathered. However, from this hadith, those who are younger than sixty years cannot use it as evidence for any kind of concession in their own case.
