Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila says: Abu Musa came to visit Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him: Have you come to visit the sick or to rejoice over the calamity? He replied: To visit the sick. Upon hearing this, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you have truly come to visit the sick, then listen, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a servant goes to visit his Muslim brother who is ill, he walks among the chosen fruits of Paradise, and when he sits (by the patient), mercy covers him. If it is morning, then until evening, and if it is evening, then until morning, seventy thousand angels pray for mercy upon him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … We should, without regard for whether someone is our own or a stranger, lowly or high-ranking, familiar or unfamiliar, benefactor or not, rich or poor, keep the bond of Islam in view and visit the sick, for it is in doing so that sincerity for the sake of Allah (lillahiyyat) is found.
