It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Listen, understand, and know that there are some servants of Allah who are neither prophets nor martyrs, but the martyrs and prophets will envy them because of their closeness to Allah and their gathering with Him. A Bedouin from among the distant people came and extended his hand towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! There are such people who are neither prophets nor martyrs, but the prophets and martyrs will envy their gatherings and their closeness to Allah. Describe their qualities for us and make them clear. At the Bedouin's question, signs of happiness appeared on the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: They are people of unknown lineage from unfamiliar tribes, there are no family relations among them, they love one another for the sake of Allah and maintain pure relationships among themselves. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will make pulpits of light for them, seat them upon them, and make their faces and garments light. People will be afraid on the Day of Resurrection, but they will not be afraid. These are the friends (awliya) of Allah, about whom (according to the Divine command): "There will be no fear upon them, nor will they grieve."
