Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when a man passed by. A person from the people said: O Messenger of Allah! I love this man. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Have you informed him about it? He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Stand up and inform him. So he stood up towards him and said: O so-and-so! By Allah, indeed I love you for the sake of Allah Almighty. He replied: May the One for whose sake you have loved me, love you in return. In another narration, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Stand up and inform him, so that love may be established between both of you.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When someone loves another for the sake of Allah Almighty, he should inform him so that the other person also becomes aware and the love becomes mutual. In the following hadith, the reason for this ruling is mentioned.

It is narrated mursal from Ali ibn Husayn, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “When one of you loves his brother for the sake of Allah, he should make it clear to him, for indeed this clarification is better for fostering closeness and more lasting in affection.” (Narrated by Waki‘ in az-Zuhd 2/67/2, Sahihah: 1199)
