It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised him with ten things, among which were these three: Spend on your family according to your financial means, do not keep the stick away from them for the sake of teaching them discipline, and keep instilling in them the fear of Allah Almighty.
