It is narrated from Sayyiduna Farwah bin Maseek Muradi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have a land called Abin, it is a fertile area and our grain and so on is also obtained from it, but it is afflicted with plague and there is a severe outbreak of plague there." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave it, for being near the plague is destruction."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This narration is weak. Nevertheless, if residing in a certain area is not a virtuous act, and there are such epidemics present in it that truly affect a person’s body, then that area should be abandoned. Due to living in such a place, a person may also fall into superstition and begin attributing such diseases to his land and region, rather than to Allah Ta’ala.
