عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَتَدَاوَوْا مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ بِالْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ وَالزَّيْتِ
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed the companions to treat pneumonia with Indian aloeswood and olive oil.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Eat olive oil and apply it (to your body), for it is from a blessed tree.” This hadith has been narrated from Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Abu Usaid, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, and Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhum. (Tirmidhi: 1/340, Ibn Majah: 3319, Sahihah: 379)
