Abu Khuzamah, who is from Banu Harith bin Sa’d bin Maryam, narrates: O Messenger of Allah! Tell us, when we treat ourselves with medicine, and perform ruqyah (spiritual healing), and take precautions for protection (i.e., we take preventive measures), do these things repel the decree of Allah? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These too are a part of Allah’s decree.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … To treat an illness or to have it treated does not mean that one is opposing the decree of Allah Ta’ala. Illness is a test from Allah Ta’ala; one should always ask Him for well-being. And if a person becomes afflicted by it, he should, while remaining within the bounds of the Shari’ah, seek its treatment. It is possible that he may be cured, and it is also possible that he may not be cured.
