Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade throwing stones, meaning he forbade killing an animal by striking it with a stone or a blunt object and then eating it. Rather, it should first be slaughtered, and after that, whatever thing one wishes may be used to kill it, even if it is a blunt object.
