بَابُ تَرْتِيبِ الشَّارِبِينَ وَالْبَدَانَةِ بِأَفْضَلِ الْقَوْمِ ثُمَّ مَنْ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ وَإِن سَافِي الْقَوْمِ آخِرُهُمْ شُرْبًاChapter on Arranging the Drinkers, Beginning with the Best of the People, Then Those on His Right, Even if the Youngest is the Last to Drink

عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلَامٌ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ الْأَشْيَاخُ فَقَالَ لِلْغُلَامِ أَتَأْذَنُ أَنْ أُعْطِيَ هَؤُلَاءِ فَقَالَ لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا أُوثِرُ بِنَصِيبِي مِنْكَ أَحَدًا قَالَ فَتَلَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَدِهِ
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Sahl Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that water was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he drank it, and on his left side were elders and on his right side was a child. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the child: “Will you permit me to give this water to these elders?” But the child said: “By Allah! I will not give preference to anyone over my share.” So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) handed the vessel of water to that child.
