عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَطَأٌ إِلَّا السَّيْفَ وَلِكُلِّ خَطَإٍ أَرْشٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is error in everything except the sword, and for every error there is blood money (diyah).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In accidental killing (qatl khata), there is no retribution (qisas), and the blood money (diyah) will also be lighter, that is, thirty bint makhad, thirty bint labun, thirty hiqqah, and ten ibn labun. The details of this diyah have already been mentioned in hadith number (6580). Such a killer will also have to give expiation (kaffarah) by freeing a male or female slave.
