It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a wall that was leaning to one side. He (peace and blessings be upon him) quickly passed by it. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the reason for this haste, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I dislike sudden death.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Apparently, it can be said that sudden death is a sign of Allah Almighty’s wrath, because in such a case, a person does not get the opportunity to repent and is deprived of the elevation of ranks that comes through illness. However, since a believer is always in preparation for death, sudden death is not a cause of divine wrath for him. Consider the following narration:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubaydullah bin Khalid that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Sudden death is the seizure of wrath.” Narrated by Abu Dawud, and Al-Bayhaqi added in Shu’ab al-Iman, and Razin in his book: “It is the seizure of wrath for the disbeliever and a mercy for the believer.” Abu Dawud: 3110. Imam Al-Bayhaqi has narrated this tradition in Shu’ab al-Iman, and Razin has narrated it in his book with additional wording: “Sudden death is the seizure of wrath for the disbeliever, but a mercy for the believer.” (Al-Albani said in Al-Mishkat: Sahih)
However, it is a separate matter that one should completely avoid those causes which can clearly become a reason for sudden death.
