عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُوُفِّيَ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ
Narrated by Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, his coat of mail was held in pledge with a Jew in exchange for one wasq of barley.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … According to authentic ahadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam took thirty sa‘ (a measure) of grain, whereas in this narration, there is mention of a wasq, which contains sixty sa‘.
