بَابٌ فِي أَنَّ نَفْسَ الْمَيِّتِ مَحْبُوسَةٌ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ بِدَيْنِهِChapter: That the soul of the deceased is held back from Paradise due to his debt
Hadith 6032

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مُعَلَّقَةٌ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The soul of the believer remains suspended until his debt is paid off.
