Hadith 5781

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْيَمِينُ الْكَاذِبَةُ مَنْفَقَةٌ لِلسِّلْعَةِ مَمْحَقَةٌ لِلْكَسْبِ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Through a false oath, goods may be sold, but the blessing is removed from the earnings.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Due to false oaths, there appears to be an increase in wealth, but the trader is deprived of the blessing (barakah) sent down by Allah Ta'ala. Whereas the fundamental thing is the blessing of Allah Ta'ala; all other matters are secondary and superficial. If blessing (barakah) is present, even a small amount of wealth suffices, and if there is no blessing, then the owner cannot live a life of peace at all.
