عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ نَفْسَهُ بِغَزْوٍ مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةِ نِفَاقٍ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever dies without having fought in jihad, nor having thought of striving in his own self, will die upon a branch of hypocrisy.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this, the importance of jihad is made clear. It is also understood from this that every Muslim should harbor enmity in his heart against disbelief and the disbelievers, and should possess this resolve that whenever the stage of jihad arises, he will not refrain from sacrificing his life and wealth.
