Hadith 4788

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: To set out once in the morning or evening in the way of Allah is better than all those things upon which the sun rises and sets.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Linguistically, the term "sabil Allah" should apply to every righteous deed, but in legal (shar‘i) terminology, the technical usage is more authoritative than the linguistic one, and in the Qur’an and Hadith, the phrase "fi sabil Allah" is generally used in the meaning of jihad.
