Hadith 4755

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever names (his child) after my name, should not take my kunya, and whoever takes my kunya, should not take my name.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Benefits: … It is better, considering the general ruling of the preceding ahadith, not to act upon the permissibility indicated by these ahadith. It is possible that earlier the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) granted such permission, but then, after the incident mentioned in hadith number (4751), he generally prohibited the use of the kunyah "Abu al-Qasim." There is also an indication of this kind in hadith number (4758), in which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) allows this kunyah after his passing. And Allah knows best what is correct.
