Hadith 23

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says that people complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the whispers they felt in their hearts and said: "O Messenger of Allah! We feel such things that to express them with our tongues seems harder to us than falling from the sky." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is pure faith."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is a fundamental principle: when a person begins to feel the presence of evil whispers (waswasah) and becomes fearful that he might speak in accordance with their demands, it means that firmness in his belief and sincerity and strength in his faith have developed—this is what Allah, the Exalted, intends. As for the case of the person who is intent on abandoning the obligatory acts (fara’id) and committing the prohibited acts (muharramat), what need does the accursed Shaytan have to entangle such a poor soul in evil whispers (waswasah)?
