عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَجَدْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي {إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ} وَ{اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ}
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we performed the prostration of recitation (sajda-e-tilawat) with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in Surah Inshiqaq and Surah Alaq.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is established from the ahadith of this chapter that three surahs from the detailed (mufassal) portion of the Noble Qur’an (An-Najm, Al-Inshiqaq, and Al-‘Alaq) contain prostration of recitation (sujud at-tilawah), therefore, in this matter, the opinion of the Malikis is not correct.
