Hadith 154

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believer is such a being in whom there is affection, and there is no good in the person who neither befriends anyone nor is befriended by others."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is understood from this that intimacy (uns) has a deep connection with the believer; people become familiar with him and he becomes familiar with people. The best example of this is that if the imam of the mosque is of good character, a practicing scholar, values the worshippers without discrimination, is concerned for the education of people's children, and, being free from greed and miserliness, understands and maintains his own honor and dignity, then the affection, love, respect, and reverence he receives from people is such that an ordinary person does not have the capacity to truly comprehend its reality. The same applies to teachers, doctors, and other people, but first and foremost, it is obligatory to fulfill the requirements of faith (iman) and Islam.
