Ata bin Saib says: I brought an item of charity to Sayyida Umm Kulthum bint Ali (may Allah be pleased with her), but she returned it and said: Mawla Nabi Sayyidna Mehran narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We, the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), charity is not lawful for us, and also, the servant of a people is counted among them.
