Hadith 11341

عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبِي لَوْ شَهِدْتَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْنَا السَّمَاءُ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ رِيحَنَا رِيحُ الضَّأْنِ إِنَّمَا لِبَاسُنَا الصُّوفُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I wish you could have seen the scene when we were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and it would start to rain, then you would think that our smell was like that of sheep, and the reason for this was that our clothing was made of wool.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is an offensive and disliked odor, which was greatly disliked by the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum), but regarding clothing, there was no other alternative.
