It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most handsome and beautiful, the most generous, and the bravest of all people. One night, the people of Madinah became frightened and alarmed due to some reason. People set out in the direction from which the sound had come to find out what had happened, but what did they see? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was returning from that direction. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding the horse of Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him), which was bareback, without a saddle. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had gone to investigate the source of the sound, and there was a sword hanging around his neck. He was loudly saying to the people: "Do not be afraid, do not be afraid." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said about the horse: "We found it to be like the sea." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Before this, the horse was extremely slow, but after that, it was never left behind by other horses.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is found like the sea; the comparison can be made for two reasons: (1) Just as the water of the sea does not come to an end, in the same way this horse does not stop or tire, rather it keeps running continuously; and (2) there is spaciousness in its running, just as the water of the sea is vast. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was exceedingly brave, courageous, and bold. The foundation of courage and bravery is reliance (tawakkul) upon Allah Ta'ala, and this quality was found in you sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to the highest and most perfect degree.
