Sayyiduna Abu Usaid (may Allah be pleased with him) says that on the day of the Battle of Badr, I found the sword of Ibn Abid Marzban. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that whatever the Mujahideen had should be returned, I brought that sword and placed it among the spoils of war. It was the habit of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that when anything was requested from him, he would not refuse. Sayyiduna Arqam bin Abi Arqam Makhzumi (may Allah be pleased with him) recognized that sword and he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted it to him.
