Hadith 776

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Hilal, may Allah have mercy on him, that he saw the chambers of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which were made of palm branches and covered with mats made of hair. I asked him about the house of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), so he said: Its door was towards the north (Syria). I said: Did it have one leaf or two leaves? He said: It had only one door. I asked: What was the door made of? He said: It was made of cypress or teak wood.
