Hadith 5273

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ سَلْمُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ , عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الْمَدَنِيِّ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَمْشِيَ يَعْنِي , الرَّجُلَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَتَيْنِ " .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Prophet ﷺ prohibited that one, i. e. man, should walk between two women.

Benefits and Issues:
This hadith is extremely weak; however, it is clear that in a Muslim society, the rights of men and women are protected and respected. Men have been taught etiquette: to respect women and to maintain their own dignity as well.
If women are passing by, it is in no way permissible for a man to push himself among them; however, it is also necessary that women observe the prescribed Islamic veil (hijab) and adhere to other etiquettes as mentioned elsewhere.
