Words That Guarantee Your Duas Will Be Accepted by Allah

❖ Question

"Please share the specific words or phrases through which our prayers (duas) are always accepted."

✿ Answer

Bismillāh, Wa al-Ḥamdu lillāh, Wa al-Ṣalātu Wa al-Salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh ﷺ

If you desire your supplications to always be accepted, then frequently recite the phrases mentioned in authentic Ahādīth below. Each of them has been connected to the Name of Allah (Ism al-Aʿẓam) — the Greatest Name of Allah, through which supplications are accepted.

① Praise-filled Invocation with the Greatest Name

Arabic:
«اللهم إني أسألك بأن لك الحمد، لا إله إلا أنت، أنت المنان بديع السماوات والأرض، ذو الجلال والإكرام، أسألك الجنة، وأعوذ بك من النار»

Translation:
“O Allah, I ask You as all praise belongs to You. There is no deity but You. You are al-Mannān (The Bestower), Creator of the heavens and the earth, Owner of Majesty and Honor. I ask You for Paradise and seek Your protection from the Fire.”

Prophet ﷺ said:
“He has supplicated to Allah with His Name which, when invoked, He responds and when asked, He grants.”

② Surah Ikhlāṣ in Supplication

Arabic:
«اللهم إني أسألك بأنك أنت لا إله إلا أنت، الأحد الصمد، الذي لم يلد ولم يولد، ولم يكن له كفوا أحد»

Translation:
“O Allah! I ask You by the fact that You are the One, the Eternal Refuge, who neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him.”

Prophet ﷺ said:
“He has asked Allah using His Greatest Name...”

③ Repetition of the Same in Another Narration

Arabic:
«اللهم إني أسألك بأنك أحد صمد، لم يلد، ولم يولد، ولم يكن له كفوا أحد»

Source: al-Ḥākim, Mustadrak (1859), al-Bayhaqī – Ṣaḥīḥ in meaning

④ The Phrase “Rabb Rabb”

Narrated by: Abū al-Dardāʾ and Ibn ʿAbbās رضي الله عنهما

They said:
"The Greatest Name of Allah is: 'Rabb, Rabb'"

Source: al-Ḥākim, Mustadrak (1860) – Ḥasan

⑤ Duʿāʾ of Prophet Yūnus عليه السلام

Arabic:
«لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ، إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ»

Translation:
“There is no deity but You, Glory be to You! Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers.”

Prophet ﷺ said:
"Any Muslim who supplicates with this, Allah surely answers his prayer."

⑥ Repeated 40 Times During Illness

Narration: Whoever repeats the above Duʿāʾ (of Prophet Yūnus) 40 times during illness, if he dies — he gains martyr’s reward, and if he recovers — all his sins are forgiven.

⑦ Where the Ism al-Aʿẓam is Found in the Qurʾān

Narration:
The Prophet ﷺ said, “The Greatest Name of Allah is found in three Surahs:”
  • Surah al-Baqarah:
    {اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ} [2:255]
  • Surah Āl ʿImrān:
    {اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ} [3:2]
  • Surah Ṭāhā:
    {وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ} [20:111]
Source: al-Ḥākim, Mustadrak (1866) – Ṣaḥīḥ

⑧ Duʿāʾ of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib رضي الله عنه

Arabic:
«لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»

Translation:
“There is no deity but Allah, the Forbearing, the Most Generous. Glory be to Allah. Blessed is Allah, Lord of the Great Throne. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
Source: al-Ḥākim, Mustadrak (1873) – Ṣaḥīḥ

❖ Conclusion

Every Muslim should learn and regularly recite these blessed phrases, especially when making duʿāʾ. These are not only authentic but also linked to the Greatest Name of Allah, through which duʿās are accepted and needs are fulfilled.
