Who was the second female martyr (shahīdah) in Islam?
It is difficult to state definitively who the second female martyr in Islam was. However, what is clear and agreed upon is that the first female martyr in Islam was Sayyidah Sumayyah bint Khayyāṭ, the mother of ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir (رضي الله عنه).
She was martyred by the wretched Abū Jahl, who killed her with a spear.
Wallāhu Aʿlam bi al-Ṣawāb
And Allah knows best what is correct.
