Answer:
The most severe type among the devils is the "ʿIfrīt".
Allah says:
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّارِدٍ ﴿٧
"And [We] guarded it from every rebellious devil."
[As-Ṣāffāt: 7]
The term "Mārid" refers to a rebellious and arrogant devil, but the ʿIfrīt is considered even more powerful and dangerous than a Mārid.
Some scholars also state that the Mārid is, in fact, the same as the ʿIfrīt.
And Allah knows best.
