When does fasting become obligatory for a young girl?

Fasting becomes obligatory for a girl when she reaches the age of understanding, and upon completing the age of fifteen, she becomes mature, or if coarse hair grows around her private parts, or if she begins to experience ejaculation, or if menstruation starts. If any of these signs appear, it becomes obligatory for her to fast, even if she is only ten years old. Most girls begin to menstruate at the age of ten or eleven, but their families often consider them too young and delay making them fast, which is a mistake, because when a girl starts menstruating, she is considered among women, and the Islamic rulings apply to her.
