If a person has missed ten prayers from different days, is it sufficient to make up only the obligatory (farḍ) rakʿahs, or must he also make up the sunnah and nafl along with them? And at what times should these qaḍāʾ prayers be performed?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿammā baʿd!
✔ When performing qaḍāʾ prayers, the entire prayer should be offered.
✔ Qaḍāʾ prayers may be performed at any time of the day or night except for three prohibited times in which prayer is forbidden:
① At sunrise (ḥīn ṭulūʿ al-shams).
② At midday, when the sun is at its zenith (waqt al-zawāl).
③ At sunset (ḥīn ghurūb al-shams).

❖ Question:
If a person has missed ten prayers from different days, is it sufficient to make up only the obligatory (farḍ) rakʿahs, or must he also make up the sunnah and nafl along with them? And at what times should these qaḍāʾ prayers be performed?
❖ Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿammā baʿd!
✔ When performing qaḍāʾ prayers, the entire prayer should be offered.
- The farḍ rakʿahs of missed prayers must necessarily be made up.
- The sunnah and nafl attached to those prayers, if missed, may also be made up, but they remain sunnah and nafl, not obligatory.
✔ Qaḍāʾ prayers may be performed at any time of the day or night except for three prohibited times in which prayer is forbidden:
① At sunrise (ḥīn ṭulūʿ al-shams).
② At midday, when the sun is at its zenith (waqt al-zawāl).
