What Should a Follower Do When the Imam Recites Rapidly?

Source: Aḥkām wa Masāʾil in the Light of the Qur'an and Hadith, Volume 2

❖ Question

Some Ḥanafī Imams recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah so quickly that those praying behind them do not get a pause or opportunity to recite it themselves. What should the follower do in such a case?

❖ Answer

In such a situation, if the Imam is reciting Sūrah al-Fātiḥah rapidly and hastily, it is permissible for the follower (Muqtadī) to recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah along with the Imam. There is no harm in doing so.
