Question:.
What is the ruling regarding the use of perfume and items that eliminate the smell of sweat during Ramadan?
Fatwa:.
There is no harm in applying perfume on clothes and the body while fasting. Similarly, it is permissible to use powder and take a bath while fasting, provided that nothing enters the stomach.
Question:.
What is the ruling of Sharia regarding the use of toothpaste with a toothbrush while fasting? And is the use of lotions that keep the skin soft harmful for fasting, especially if these lotions prevent water from reaching the skin?
Fatwa:.
There is no harm in using toothpaste with a toothbrush while fasting, but it is essential to prevent this paste from entering the stomach; this action can be likened to the use of miswak, as it is recommended for cleaning the teeth and for unpleasant mouth odor.
There is no harm in using such lotions and oils while fasting, as they only affect the outer part of the skin and do not penetrate the body; however, if they do enter the pores to some extent, they will not be considered as breaking the fast.
