Question:
What is the ruling on marrying a milk aunt?
Answer:
Just as it is not permissible to marry a biological aunt, it is also not permissible to marry a milk aunt, because the relationships that are prohibited by blood are also prohibited by breastfeeding.
❀ The command of Allah, the Exalted, is:
﴿وَعَمَّاتُكُمْ﴾
Reference: (An-Nisa: 23)
"And your aunts (are also made unlawful to you)."
Milk aunts are included in this ruling.
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
إن الرضاعة تحرم ما تحرم الولادة
"Breastfeeding also makes unlawful those relationships that birth (blood) makes unlawful."
