Question:
What is the ruling on a person who insults the mosque and the imam of the mosque?
Answer:
The mosque is the house of Allah, it is a symbol of Allah, and insulting and belittling the symbols of Allah is disbelief. Similarly, to insult the imam of the mosque simply because he is the imam and to consider him insignificant is disbelief.

الاستخفاف بالأشراف والعلماء كفر
"Belittling the nobles and scholars is a cause of disbelief."
