What is the maximum amount of dowry that can be given?
Answer:
It is correct to give dowry according to one's status; however, giving a dowry beyond one's means is not commendable. If one has the means, a treasure can also be given as dowry.
❀ Allah Almighty's command is:
﴿وَآتَيْتُمْ إِحْدَاهُنَّ قِنْطَارًا﴾
Reference: (An-Nisa: 20)
"And you have given (a wife) a treasure (as dowry)."
