Written by: Imran Ayub Lahori

Definition:
Before performing ṭawāf, one should take the upper sheet of the ihram and pass it under the right shoulder, then place it over the left shoulder in such a way that the right shoulder remains uncovered. This act is called iḍṭibā‘.

It is authentically reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ṭawāf in this manner.
