طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ
"Its clusters are as if they were the heads of devils."
[As-Saffat: 65]
In the above verse, the comparison of the heads of devils to the branches of the Zaqqum tree is meant to portray their repulsiveness and abhorrence. The hair of devils stands upwards, resembling the thorns of the Zaqqum tree.
From this, it is understood that the jinn, particularly the devils among them, have ugly and terrifying appearances.
