❖ Question:
What is the authenticity of the following narration?
❀ Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas ibn Mālik (RA):
“When the Prophet ﷺ would go out for Fajr prayer, he would pass by the house of Fāṭimah (RA) for six months and say: ‘O Ahl al-Bayt! It is time for prayer,’ and then recite: ﴿إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا﴾ (al-Aḥzāb: 33).”
(Musnad Aḥmad: 3/259)
❖ Answer:
The chain of narration is weak. This is because ʿAlī ibn Zayd ibn Judʿān is a weak narrator.
The narration is not authentic due to weakness in its chain.
