Was the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Sent Only to Humans or to Jinn as Well?
Answer:
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Noble Messenger ﷺ said:
"فُضِّلْتُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ: أُعْطِيتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ، وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ، وَأُحِلَّتْ لِيَ الْغَنَائِمُ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا، وَأُرْسِلْتُ إِلَى الْخَلْقِ كَافَّةً، وَخُتِمَ بِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ"
[Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 523]
“I have been granted superiority over the Prophets in six ways:➊ I have been given concise and comprehensive speech.
➋ I have been supported with awe (against my enemies) from a distance of one month’s journey.
➌ Booty has been made lawful for me.
➍ The entire earth has been made a place of prostration and purification for me.
➎ I have been sent to all of creation.
➏ The line of Prophethood has been sealed with me.”*
From this, it is evident that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not sent only to mankind, but also to the jinn and other creatures.
