Is it correct to say that Prophet Ādam عليه السلام was created from a specific type of clay, such as the commonly mentioned “Bih ki mitti” (clay from a place called Bih)?
Alḥamdulillāh, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
It is incorrect to claim that Prophet Ādam عليه السلام was created from any specific regional soil, such as “Bih ki mitti.” Instead, a ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) Hadith clearly refutes this claim.
Narrated by Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī رضي الله عنه:
"Indeed, Allah created Ādam from a handful of soil gathered from all parts of the earth. Therefore, the children of Ādam came out accordingly: some red, some white, some black, and some in between; some soft, some tough; some good, and some evil."

Status: Authentic (Ṣaḥīḥ)
This Hadith clearly establishes that:
Prophet Ādam عليه السلام was not created from a specific clay or location,
Rather, Allah ﷻ used soil from the entire earth, comprising various types, colors, and textures.
➤ This explains the diversity in human beings — in their colors, temperaments, dispositions, and morality.
The popular claim that Prophet Ādam عليه السلام was created from "Bih ki mitti" is not supported by any authentic Islamic source.
According to sound Hadith, he was created from a composite of soils gathered from across the whole earth.
This is the blessing of Hadith knowledge — it helps to correct misconceptions and uphold the truth.
