What are some of the etiquettes & mannerisms of visiting people?

Visiting people is a big party in islam , and it's awesome you're looking into the Islamic perspective on this . Here are some etiquettes:

1. *Permission to enter*: Ask for permission before entering someone's home (Qur'an 24:27-28)
2. *Greet with Salam*: Initiate with "As-salamu alaykum" (Hadith: Sahih Bukhari 3212)
3. *Respect elders*: Show respect to the host, especially if they're older (Hadith: Sahih Bukhari 3051)
4. *Dress modestly*: Dress decently when visiting (Qur'an 24:30-31)
5. *Be mindful of time*: Don't overstay your welcome (Saying of Umar ibn Al-Khattab)

Some salaf sayings:
- Imam Malik: "A visitor should not sit for too long, as it burdens the host."
- Ibn Sirin: "A visitor should be brief and not burden the host."
