Chapter: The Virtue of One Who Visits His Brother for Allah's Sake
«باب فضل من زار أخاه لله»
✿ Narrated by Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ:
“A man set out to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah appointed an angel to wait for him on his way. When the man passed by, the angel said to him: ‘Where are you going?’ He replied: ‘To visit a brother of mine in this village.’ The angel asked: ‘Do you owe him any favor which you are repaying?’ He said: ‘No, except that I love him for the sake of Allah.’ The angel then said: ‘I am a messenger of Allah to you, informing you that Allah loves you just as you love him for His sake.’”
[Sahih: Reported by Muslim 2567]
(Explanation of تربها: i.e., to repay a favor or maintain a bond for personal benefit.)
✿ Narrated by Anas (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ:
“There is no Muslim who visits his brother solely for the sake of Allah, except that a caller from the heavens announces: ‘You are blessed, and may Paradise be your abode!’ Otherwise, Allah proclaims from above His Throne: ‘My servant has visited his brother for My sake, and I am now his Host. I shall not accept any reward for him less than Paradise.’”
[Hasan: Reported by al-Bazzār 6466, Abū Nuʿaym in al-Ḥilyah 3/107, and Abū Yaʿlā 4140]
