Written by: Imran Ayub Lahori

❶ It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa‘id Khudri (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

التاجر الصدوق الأمين ، مع النبيين والصديقين والشهداء
"The truthful and trustworthy merchant will be with the Prophets, the truthful ones, and the martyrs."
[Ṣaḥīḥ li-ghayrih: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb: 1782, Kitāb al-Buyūʿ: Bāb Targhīb al-Tujjār fī al-Ṣidq, Tirmidhī: 1209]

❷ It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn ‘Umar (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

التاجر الأمين الصدوق المسلم مع الشهداء يوم القيامة
"The trustworthy, truthful, and Muslim merchant will be with the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection."
[Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb: 1783, Kitāb al-Buyūʿ: Bāb Targhīb al-Tujjār fī al-Ṣidq, Ibn Mājah: 2139]

❸ It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw people engaged in business transactions and said:

يا معشر التجار ، فاستجابوا لرسول الله
"O assembly of merchants, turn your attention to the Messenger of Allah."

The people lifted their necks and eyes towards him ﷺ, so he ﷺ said:

إن التجار يبعثون يوم القيامة فجار إلا من اتقى الله وبر و صدق
"Indeed, the merchants will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as wicked people, except for the one who feared Allah, did good, and spoke the truth."
[Ṣaḥīḥ li-ghayrih: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb: 1785, Kitāb al-Buyūʿ: Bāb Targhīb al-Tujjār fī al-Ṣidq, Tirmidhī: 1210, Ibn Mājah: 2146, Ibn Ḥibbān in his Ṣaḥīḥ: 4890, Ḥākim: 6/2 — Imām Ḥākim (RA) declared the chain of narration authentic.]
