❀ Ruling on Reciting the Final Verses of Sūrah al-Ṣāffāt After Salah ❀
Source: Fatāwā ʿUlamāʾ-e-Ḥadīth, Kitāb al-Ṣalāh, Volume 1
Is it authentically established to recite the following verses from Sūrah al-Ṣāffāt three times after every obligatory prayer?
“Glorified is your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. And peace be upon the messengers. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
(Sūrah al-Ṣāffāt: 180–182)
Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr, referencing al-Ṭabarānī, has reported a narration:
“Whoever recites these verses three times after every obligatory prayer:
— he will be rewarded fully and abundantly.”
(Reference: al-Tirmidhī)
There is no clear information regarding the authenticity of the chain of narration for this report, nor has its ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) status been firmly established.
While there is mention of virtues related to reciting these verses three times after the obligatory prayers, the authenticity of the narration is uncertain.
Hence, this act may be adopted with sincere intention as a general form of dhikr, but should not be considered definitively established or obligatory.
Allah knows best.
