Virtue of Going Early for Prayer and the Excellence of the First Row

Source: Monthly Al-Hadith, Hazro

The Virtue of Going Early for Prayer
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (رضی اللہ عنہ), the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said:

If people knew the reward for the call to prayer and for being in the first row, and if they could not find any other way except by drawing lots, they would certainly draw lots. And if they knew the reward of going early to the prayer, they would surely race one another to it. And if they knew the rewards of the night prayer (‘Isha) and the morning prayer (Fajr), they would come to them even if they had to crawl.

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 615; Sahih Muslim: 437)
