"Three things are from the comforts of the world — even though the world has no true comfort: a comfortable ride, a righteous woman, and a spacious house."
This narration is weak (ḍaʿīf). It has been recorded by Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar in al-Maṭālib al-ʿĀliyah (2/318, ḥadīth no. 1991), with the chain:
Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah → Ghundar → Shuʿbah → Ziyād ibn Miḵrāq who said:
“I heard from Ibn Qurrā or Qurrā (Abū Bakr expressed doubt whether it was Ibn Qurrā or Qurrā): that he narrated from the Prophet ﷺ.”
Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī said:
“This chain is weak. If Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah remembered the narration as being from Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrā, then the narrators are reliable (thiqah). However, there is confusion in identifying whether it was Qurrā or Ibn Qurrā.
If it is from Ibn Qurrā, then it is mursal (i.e., with a missing link), and if from Qurrā, then I do not recognize him.”
(al-Silsilah al-Ḍaʿīfah, Vol. 14, p. 1271, ḥadīth no. 7162)
This is the last narration in al-Silsilah al-Ḍaʿīfah that Shaykh al-Albānī verified before his passing.
رَحِمَهُ ٱللّٰهُ رَحْمَةً وَاسِعَةً، آمِينَ
Among the teachers of Ziyād ibn Miḵrāq is Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrā al-Muzanī
(Tahdhīb al-Kamāl, Vol. 6, p. 403)
However, there is no mention of Qurrā ibn Iyās, nor is any meeting between Ziyād and him established.
Therefore, the narration remains weak through both possible chains.
